The Future of Coaching

The Future of Coaching

In my experience, coaching is the single most powerful support strategy anyone can use personally or professionally to create success. As the Certified Coaches Federation’s new CEO, you’re probably thinking, “he better feel that way!” The truth is, I do feel that way because a passion for coaching permeates every cell of my body. Coaching allows people to move from where they are to where they want to be, and as coaches, you facilitate that movement more efficiently, more safely and more enjoyably than if the client attempted to do it by themselves.
With 30 years’ experience in the field of health and self-improvement, leading, speaking, writing and coaching across Canada and around the world, I can confidently say that I have never been more excited about an opportunity as I am about being your CEO. As I move into this role, I am honoured and humbled to recognize those that have created the circumstances for this to happen. First and foremost, I thank Derrick Sweet and Marsha Staton for giving us all the opportunity to connect through the Certified Coaches Federation. Their vision for creating this organization and nurturing to where it is today is inspiring. I also want to thank Abe Brown, Charles Mugaviri and Isabel Ferreira for the work they’ve done to advance CCF’s growth worldwide. Together, we can create even more success for coaches and more importantly, support for clients as a result of the incredible education that CCF provides.
I also thank the support team at CCF’s head office, including Megan and Christine. Megan has experience in marketing, communications and public relations. She has a Bachelor of Commerce and a postgraduate certificate in public relations and corporate communications. Christine also has had a myriad of experiences before she joined us. She has worked in researching, technological training, and marketing. She has a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of English Honours from Nipissing University. Although I only worked with her for a short time, I’d also like to recognize the contribution of Dorothy Ann Bertossa, who, while she recently retired CCF, contributed immeasurably to the smooth functioning of the federation. We benefited from her many years of administrative expertise and enjoyed her quick wit and charm! With all the great people involved, I know there are many great things ahead for the federation.
My vision for the Certified Coaches Federation is first to assess where we are at through conversations, questions, and surveys (some of which you may have already participated in) and based on what we learn; we are going to create an environment in which we will all be more successful. We will grow our position as the leader in coach education and create more opportunities for coaches to learn, grow, and create the kind of abundance that makes the world a better place for all.
The future of coaching is very bright for all of us. If there ever was a “good news” industry, this is it. There aren’t many (if any) higher callings than helping people become self-actualized. I ask every one of you as coaches and future coaches to embrace how important you are to your clients, and to the world as a whole. We would all like the world to be a better place, and we can only do that one person at a time. Everything you do as a coach can lead to making the world a better place, and I thank you for everything you do.
